I took my car a 2006 cobalt ss supercharged in for its routine oil change and had the brakes and rotors replaced. At an ASE certified shop that I always take it to, to ensure no warranty discrimination can be made if there would be a problem. The engine was making noise asked the techs there to look into it. They said they seen metal in the oil to get it to a dealer I did but where i work its almost 40 miles one way I have to work and so I went to work but they deemed it was the oil filter since it was aftermarket of which in 1999 is illegeal to void a warranty for. The manufaturer of the filter came and got the filter and after testing proved it was still working properly and exceeded GM specs, for reference its made at the same plant in thialand that GM uses to make all thier filters for the asian market.

Upon the proof the filter was ok they said then that there were metal in the oil (to me this shows a defect) but said when i had the oil changed to when i brought it to them was 2600 miles so they wont warranty it for that reason now. I paid for the extended warranty for 5year/50000 miles. the engine has 28k miles which is even under the base warranty. Also it is a known fact that in the production of my vehicle they used unheat treated timing chains but there wasnt a recall cause it wasnt a saftey issue. The dealership wants me to pay $4600 to have to car fixed cause the zone manager says its my fault. A 2006 car with 28k miles should not have the engine seizing up, this thing happens with a zero tolerance engine when the timing chain breaks or parts break down and all the recipricating parts slam together.

MICK, SINCE GENERAL MOTORS APPEARS TO BE PART OF THE FEDERAL RESERVE.....

AUTHOR: Karl - Highlands Ranch (USA)

you might want to send a copy of your Ripoff Report to the Federal Reserve in Washington D.C., so they are aware of what's going on, right?

You can 'Google' this- WHO OWNS THE FED?, and go to the site with the 5 charts to see that General Motors appears in 'Chart 3', correct?

You can probably 'Google' this- FEDERAL RESERVE ADDRESS WASHINGTON DC, and get their mailing address. It's always best to go right to the top when you have a problem, wouldn't you agree?

Good luck to you!
