I purchased an extended warranty for $2010.00 about 18 months ago for an additional 53,000 miles worth of coverage. I drove the vehicle about 25,000 miles and then traded it in. I never used this warranty at all. When I traded in the vehicle, I sent a written request to cancel the warranty and to issue me the pro-rata refund according to my contract. This should be about $1200.

First they tell me that it will take up to 45 days to refund my money. Okay---45 days passes---nothing. So I call them again. The customer service rep now says that it is 45 "working days" and so because of weekends and holidays, the 45 days is not up yet. Okay----then 45 "working" days pass and still nothing. I call them back. They tell me that they are behind in processing payments, but it should go out this week. The end of the week comes and nothing. So I call them back again.

This time they tell me that the refund has been calculated and the check has been printed, but they are waiting for the CEO to sign the check before it can be mailed, but that it should go out in the mail before the end of the week. The end of that week arrives and still nothing. I call them back 9 days later and they tell me the check is STILL waiting for signature and that the only person authorized to sign checks is Anthony Hodel himself. That is certainly no way to do business and I am sure that other people in the company have checkwriting authority.

No one can run a company otherwise that is this huge. Anyway.....It is now 72 days later and I still have not received my pro-rata refund. The customer service representatives at this company are stalling me and I do not know why unless there is a pending bankruptcy action coming or something. The Ohio Attorney General's Office has accepted my complaint and they are currently suing this company for many other consumers. It is my understanding that the Ohio Attorney Generals office has over 150 complaints for this company. I would advise anyone considering purchasing ANY product from this company to seriously reconsider.
