After I paid 452 down payment and 2 payments of 226.00 they approved my claim of 1438.00 and left me with the remaining balance of 640.00. They stated my repair shop was not using the all data guidelines so that's why they was not paying full price. After I shopped around and found a better labor rate that was very close to the all data guidelines I was required to pay a portion out of pocket for that shop also . After my vehicle sat for 2 in half days waiting for approval I decided to cancel. They stalled for 3 days to get back to me so I started emailing and calling I finally got a email back explaining how much my refund will be. I paid 452 down and paid 2 payment of 226.00 and she sent a email saying my refund due is 224 . I realize they prorate after 30 days but that's ridiculous remember they never provided no service to me. Now they say it will take 40-60 for my refund.

While shopping around for these Dutch bags 3 repairs shops informed me they never seen a Extended Warranty company pay full price of repairs there was always something wrong according to there guidelines . So my advice to all pay your self a monthly payment and have an emergency fund for your vehicles repairs and other unplanned events.

This Complaint is Misguided

AUTHOR: Ben - Hunt Valley (U.S.A.)

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to this customer's posting. It is important to understand that sales organizations maintain no authority or discretion in the adjudication of claims. That responsibility rests with the Administrator of the contract. Similarly, if you buy insurance through your Allstate sales agent, Allstate is the entity approving and paying insurance claims, not the agent.

Each Administrator's contract contains specific Terms and Conditions which outline exactly what is covered by the contract as well as other important items such as claim procedures. We strongly recommend to all consumers to request and review the service contract information thoroughly prior to and after purchase so that they may get a clear understanding of the covered components associated with their purchase as well as familiarize themselves with the company backing the contract. At CARCHEX all contracts in their entirety are available for consumers to review prior to purchase and we proudly offer a 100% 30-day Money Back Guarantee and the highest quality products backed by top tier administrators and insurance carriers. In the instance of a cancellation beyond 30 days, each service contract is prorated exactly based on the terms included in the Administrator's contract.

In this case, the customer's complaint is misguided. The complaint should be directed towards the repair facility that refused to use reasonable rates for performing repairs. ALLDATA® is the industry standard for providing OEM automotive repair guides and is used by thousands of professional repair and collision shops across North America. It outlines, among other things, recommended parts and labor for particular repairs. As stated by the customer, the administrator had approved to pay the amount provided in the ALLDATA® guide toward the claim. Insurance companies do not allow doctors to charge unlimited amounts for a check-up so it stands to reason that a service contract administrator would not pay unlimited amounts to a repair facility for a repair.

While we attempt to make every customer happy with their purchase, inevitably there are some instances in which a customer may be dissatisfied with the result of a claim. In all cases, we are available to work on behalf of consumers to help determine validity of any denial. For additional information you may visit www.CARCHEX.com. We look forward to the opportunity to serve future consumers thru our consultative sales process.
