I was employed by Amy's Floral,2706 E. University, Suite 10 Mesa,Az 85215, for approximatley 6 months. During that time taxes were withheld from my paycheck but never filed with the IRS. I was never given a W-2 form for the 1999 tax filing. Also I found when going over the records, that I was cheatd out of several hours of pay ($306.50)

The withholding for taxes was $457.76. Amy's Floral does not file taxes, and refuses to pay me the money I have earned. I have a copy of my hours taken directly from Amy's own record book. There are also several paychecks written to me that bounced and were never made good.When I confronted the owner I was assured that I would be given my W-2 by Jan 31,2000. That didn't happen.

When I requested it again along with the back pay, I was told I wouldn't be recieving either because I had threatened to turn them in to the IRS. I have filed a complaint with the IRS but it will be several month until they can get to it. In the mean time I am a starving student in need of that $764.00 I have had ripped off from me by an ex-employer. I did quit the job when the second paycheck bounced. Can you please help?

Company Under New Ownership

The complaints filed here on Amy's Floral are over two years old and in no way are representative to the current owner.

Since these complaints were filed back in 2000, the company has been bought twice. I can assure you that the current owner has no interest in participating in any tax-dodging, and certainly has no intention of maliciously underpaying her employees. We keep accurate records of all our payroll and sales, and contribute to state and federal funds according to law.

It is unfortunate that any employer would withold money from an employee unlawfully for their own financial gain. I can assure you that this will never happen here at Amy's Floral while under the ownership of Patrice Castaneda and Rachel Conner.
