Applegate Securities Inc Winning Sweepstakes Scam St. Montreal Ontario

My husband received a letter in the mail from Applegate Securities Inc. informing him that he had been seclected randomly for $250,000. With it wasn an enclosed check for the amount of $4995 with the sole purpose to pay Government taxes. It also directed him to call and speak with Bob Morris before cashing the check.

When my husband called, "Bob Morris" told him to put the check into the bank and call him directly after to obtain information as to where to send the money gram. The check was written from Wells Fargo Bank in Van West, OH. There is NO Van West, OH. This IS a scam. If you receive the same letter my husband did, PLEASE do NOT cash your check!
