i received a sweepstakes lottery-winning check in the amount of $4850.00 with instructions to call this phone #.they told me to deposit check into my bank and call them to get the name of the tax agent i was to send the government taxes($2850.00) to.i would then receive the balance of my winnings(146,000 approx) fedex and would need proper id to receive it.this sounds too good to br true.they assured me on the phone that it was legit and not a scam.any one heard of this company or this sweepstakes or this scam?can i get into any financial trouble if i just deposit the check and see what happens?please advise thank you spike in spencer,ma.

If you don't remember entering the sweepstakes don't cash the check! don't western union money to a company not knowing the company. all you have to do is type in the name of the company and google it and you'll find several reports on this website. DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT CASH THIS CHECK! YOU WILL REGRET IT! instead of taking it to the bank, take it to the police station.
