CAPITAL ONE SECURITIES INC. SENT A CHECK TO DEPOSIT FOR PAYMENT OF TAXES CLAIMING I HAD WON A LOTTERY NEWMARKET, Ontario Canada

I decided to file this report after reading several other reports that were very similar to my situation. Note, I NEVER in a million years believed this was true or legit - I just now got back from my mailbox and immediately went on the internet to search scams under that name and came up with this website.

This particular scam came from CAPITAL ONE SECURITIES INC. FROM NEWMARKET, ONTARIO CANADA - 140 KING STREET TO BE EXACT! Sent a letter and a check for $4993.00 saying to call them because they had FRANTICALLY been trying to reach me - claiming I had won a lottery for 250,000.00 - I was to deposit this check and then wire them the money for the taxes immediately - of course, haha - not waiting for the dud check to come back and then you are out the money you wired them!!!! Their claim is that once they receive the wire from me for 2995.00 they will send me my lottery winnings via fedex. How about this: WHY WOULD YOU SEND ME A CHECK FOR 4993.00 WHEN YOU WANT 2995.00 BACK FROM ME?? DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!!

DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAM PLEASE! I AM SURE THERE ARE PEOPLE OUT THERE IN THE SAME POSITION I AM IN RIGHT NOW - HUSBAND LAID OFF FROM WORK, BROKE AND NEEDING MONEY - NOTHING IS FREE - THE ONLY LOTTERY YOU ARE LIKELY TO WIN IS THE STATE LOTTERY YOU BUY A TICKET FOR!!!
