Citizens Information Associates Star Nine Ventures, Mugshots.com Extortion, Blackmail, and Embarrassment Internet

After 4 1/2 years in the same position without a raise I am finally up for a promotion. Unfortunately, my boss just contacted me about the Google results that came up when she typed in my name. The first hit is mugshots.com showing a mugshot from a DUI arrest 5 years ago. Not only is this charge a misdemeanor but I have more than paid my dues having taken hours of alcohol classes, lost my license, spent time in jail, completed community service, and paid thousands of dollars in fines and charges. I have worked hard to right the mistakes I have made only to have them thrown in my face by this piranha of a website. This website and the others like it are nothing but blackmailers and extortionists wringing money out of people like me, people who do not have extra money but desperately want to leave the wrong choices they have made behind them. As far as removal goes, the 4 "authorized vendors" listed on mugshots.com want $399 to remove my picture from the site. $399 with no guarantee that it will not be scraped again by another horrid site!? There is no doubt that these mugshot sites and the removal sites are working together to extort money from people's circumstances. No matter the claims of legality this "business" is walking a fine line and should be shut down.
