I logged in on the Circuit City website and came across to a trade in program which I thought was exclusively for that company.After I entered all the information I had about my PC, I clicked and sent it to get an stimate ;well it came back with a fair value (now I am at a different website that I was not aware of ) when I clicked to accept it ,the instructions for shipping the Pc came on an email.

It was to go to a place in Texas.I sent it anyway and surprise ..surprise the estimate now is 35% less than the one they had sent me.They claimed the information about the PC was not accurate.I then faxed all the information that came with the PC when I bought it directly from HP;now they say that the initial quote was never meant to be the real one and that I could have the PC back if I send them $55 for shipping!!!!.but I red on "resellerratings.com" that they return broken merchandise.I then decided to "bite the bullet " and accept the deal (they obviously count on that ).

This is the typical "bait and switch "from sleazy "scumos". I will never shop at Circuit City again.

Did you check to verify that you were actually AT CircuitCity.com to begin with??

I'm pretty sure the company I work for does not do scams like that. I am familiar with the workings of firedog and I'm well aware of what viruses and other user-operator errors occur that could bring you to a phishing/pharming Web site.

FYI, Circuit City has not done "trade-in" or "layaway" programs in many years. And... when did you file this report? In August 2008?
