I just wanted to add a few words. Wether you read them, believe them, or care is up to you.
I am currently an expert on JA and I graduated from college, have been certified MANY times in my State and with outside organizations, and have many many years experience in my field- hands on. Obviously, graduating college, or technical school is a huge benefit, but what about those people who just have been doing their job field for 15-20+ years? Doesn't experience make a difference? If you look in any Help Wanted section of any newspaper what do you see? "Experienced" That job doesn't care if you graduated with honors from the snootiest college in the US, they want someone they can throw into a position, and that person can do it. As for my answers on JA- they are all 100% based on real-life experiences that I have performed many times or, diagnosis that I have performed to get to the answer. I can't speak for every expert on every subject, but let's face it, even in your own personal life, you have an auto mechanic you just "trust", no? When your car breaks, you bring it back to that one shop, no? Yes you do, don't bullsh!t yourself. Did YOUR mechanic graduate college? Tech School? Don't know, do you? Ever been to that local garage near your house that the friggen Habib is running/owns? Had him fix your car? Do an Oil Change? Think Habib that barely speaks English graduated a US college? No way! But the Oil Change price was right, so you went there, huh?
I am going to have to agree with some earlier posts about the people b!tching are the people that were cut from JA when the "Certification Check" was initiated. Apparently, *YOU* were the bullsh!tters. I'm still there... huh, guess that means i'm a trained professional and my State and my organization Cert's as well as my 15+ years of hands-on experience checked out. (By the way, this background check is done by a 3rd party, not associated with JA at all, for those of you thinking JA has a hand in anyone passing the check). I have NO IDEA who Andy is, nor do i give a sh!t (can ya tell im a real mechanic yet? Part of Auto Tech training in my State is Swearing 101 - I sincerely apologize in advance, I'm just heated). I try my best to assist the customers the best I know how with their problems trying to save them a few bucks (like that one guy that posted and said he actually was helped.) There really are a lot of Certified (and verified) Techs on JA, and if you're here b!tching that there isn't, its because you got cut for being an uneducated loser. If you're as good as you think you are, and JA didn't accept what you had to offer- go take an ASE test. They're only $125/test and the application is available at ANY local parts store and open to ANYONE who wants to take the test. Ahhhh... what? dont want to take the test? Cant afford it? Other excuses? Excuses are for losers. Welcome to America 2010. You will need a Cert of some kind and if not- pray the Democrats stay in office, they love to pay Welfare to uneducated slobs.
Obviously my rebuttle here is pointed at that one d0uche bag that said all the Auto Techs there are not legit or certified or just copy and paste. Again, obviously, that was the shade-tree mechanic that was cut because he has NO certs, or an employer that'll say, "Yea, he was a great mechanic, sorry i lost him to the higher paying garage."
As for the one tw*t above who said the Experts stab each other in the back- lemme let you in on a little secret- One of our Techs has a severe medical condition, and a contribution fund was started by a great guy and he raised a TON of money to donate to this ill Tech. That sound like a bunch of backstabbers? The object of the game here is, first to the question and its yours. Some call it "friendly competition", sore-losers call it backstabbing. I will assume you have a old, slow computer and just got p!ssed off that you kept getting beat to the answer. Or, maybe you should put down the f*ckin donut, turn down Oprah in the background and concentrate on the JA customers. It's experts like you that were cut for a reason- becuase you SUCKED at it and we dont need you.
Now- for real people reading this- PLEASE do not let my apparent over use of swear words turn you off from the site. I give my PERSONAL PROMISE that neither I nor any of the other Techs there treat customers with this language or in ANY derogatory manner what-so-ever. Let's face it, in THIS particular forum, my job, my passion for helping people and my fun (as well as many other excellent Techs) were being slandered (no, im not going to get a lawyer, thats not my style, i'd rather just laugh at you reading this and fuming, contemplating what you will type as a rebuttle, when the fact is, i'll never log back in here to read it, becuase like I said before, YOUR opinion means absolute sh!t to me) and unfortunately, as a Tech with well over 15yrs, i tend to get a little heated and use cuss words. Doesn't your mechanic? Makes you feel like he's a regular guy, don't it? Never heard a mechanic say sh!t? A plumber say f*ck? A carpenter say God Damn it? Yes you have, dont bullsh!t yourself. Let me also clear up a couple other things- The person that said he made a deposit and never got an answer to his question: his question was "How do I change the muffler bearings in a 1974 AMC Gremlin" 1st- muffler bearings are made up, not real. 2nd- who still drives a 1974 Gremlin and if you do, where do you get it fixed in 2010?! For the person who said there is no visible "Contact Us" link- ummmm... it's at the bottom of the page, where EVERY OTHER site has it. Contact Us, FAQ, yep, they're all there. Again, put the donut down and scroll. If your fingers are too fat from excessive donut eating, 1-800-JENNY-10. Telling people that YOU cant find it, and "its not there" are two different things. I'd be willing to bet there are a ton of people out there with higher IQ's than yours... let them go check it out for themselves. For the guy that said he never got a refund- did you bother to read the FAQ? Ahhhh... no Mr. Poster, i did not because i am an ignorant slob of a person who just expects the world to wait on me hand and foot like they do at the Welfare office. Maybe I will have my 6yr old read it for me, and then break it down into small words so that i may understand it and re-apply for my refund (which we gladly return if you follow the directions like every other normal person does.) If you're an average, hard-working person just looking to get some advice and save some money by "doing it yourself", we can help! If you've got the IQ of a booger, then i would expect to see your post here (if i actually had the intention of returning) and good luck with that huge auto repair bill from the Dealer, who obviously knows you're a moron too, and is going to take you for a ride.
Anyway- take a stop by JA, and come check us out. Got a Check Engine light and want to know why? The Dealer will charge you almost $90 to tell you... we can tell you how to get the codes read for Free, and then help you diagnose and repair it! Not just copy and paste answers- real, personalized assistance! Don't believe the disgruntle idiots here- make your own evaluation! JA isn't like what these idiots describe, i promise you. Don't let uneducated slobs make desicions for you, figure it out yourself- you've got a brain, use it! Ever saw a movie that got terrible reviews, but you went to see it anyway and loved it?! Aha! My point exactly.
Ok. Enough rambling. I got my fustrations out. Don't knock something you are not a part of. You all sound like the geeks that didn't get invited to the cool-kid party. That party didn't suck, it rocked. You just say it sucked, because you weren't invited and from the outside looking in, you couldn't hear much! Got to have some sort of excuse for Monday morning, right? Join the cool-kid party and come get some cheap, effective, helpful and personalized help. In this economy, who doesn't want to save a buck?!
