I was searching for a car on craigslist when i stumbled upon an ad for a 2004 Nissan maxima i emailed the seller to find out why so cheap i received a response almost immediately and it was around 3am........
The email basically said that the seller and the car were in Miami Florida and apologized for not being able to meet face to face. The seller said her name was Monica and that she recently was finalizing a divorce with her husband and the car was in good condition with a clear title all packaged and ready to go through E bay, then she said that they would handle the transaction if i was still interested send my shipping information....
I sent her my name and address and then i received two emails from e bay a few minutes later regarding her as the seller of a Nissan maxima and instructions on how to money gram the $3500 in order to get the car shipped.......
She emailed me back to verify i received email from e bay and to ask when i would be sending payment. I told her two weeks. I then looked up Kelly blue book value of 2004 Nissan maxima with 37,000 miles and it was valued at over 11,0000 alarms went off in my head. I emailed her and asked her why so cheap and she never sent me a response.
The next email i received from her was a tip....She told me to tell money gram that i was sending money to a friend and not a business transfer to avoid fees that she would incur if they knew we had a deal....After that i definitely suspected a scam!
I looked up the address shown on the supposed email from e bay of the warehouse where the car is and it googled back to a picture of a house with an overgrown yard!
