National Imaging Sys, National Imaging Systems Free Toner Cartrdige: Deceptive Marketing Strategy Van Nuys California

In mid-Sept 08, the above company called to offer a free toner cartridge as evaluation of their service and product. I told them that we already work with a local supplier. The person on the phone was real nice, and said that it was a no obligation gift, and that they just wanted a chance to get their product into our hands and hope that we would be intrested in supporting them. I even asked if this was one of those "toner scams" and she empamphatically said, "no".

30 days later we received an inovice for three times the amount of the toner. This is when I went to the internet to Google the company and stumbled across all the stories about their numerous scams here on Rip-Off report.

I sent the cartidge toner back certified along with a letter. I didn't call the company because from what I have read this seems to only open the door to more harrassment. So hopefully, returning the cartridge back will minimize the nastiness - but we will see. I've also reported to the FTC who has informed me that we should immediately hang up on these people if they try to call us again.
