Quit working at "BeeZid" even though I really needed the job - VERY BAD PLACE

AUTHOR: QuitBeezid - (United States of America)

Last summer I answered an ad for a "warehouse tech" that paid $11.50 an hour. Some guy answered the phone and told me to show up at 8 AM in a business park overlooking the freeway. There were no signs on the building, just tinted windows and a card key entrance - there was absolutely NO WAREHOUSE attached to this building. Also, about 20 other guys showed up. One guy even had a briefcase. We all waited outside until 8:45 until some middle eastern dude finally came to the door and let us in. We all piled into this small room that had separate desks which were really cheap. One guy even asked the dude why he didn't open the door sooner and the dude totally ignored him. The guy started to hand out these pieces of paper with phone numbers on them and told us part of the "interview" was to see how we could handle "customers" on the phone. So far I was following along. One guy spoke up and said he was applying as a "driver" and asked if maybe he was in the wrong place and the middle eastern guy said "no". So he told us to start calling the numbers on the paper and tell the person our name and that we were "returning their call". The first number I called was some jacked up area code that I had no clue of where it was and this guy answered the phone and he was PISSED. He said he won an ipod on beezid.com and the auction "flipped over" after he won it and how much of a scam it was... I had no clue what he was talking about. I just told him sorry. One guy got up and asked the head dude a question and he said "Just tell them we will fix it best you can and hang up". After about 30 minutes one older guy said he was going out for a cigarette and never came back. A lot of the calls were to pissed beezid customers, but some of the people were complaining about other websites. The middle eastern guy told us to write our names at the top of our forms and put them on his desk, but I got a really weird feeling and just bailed. I started talking to another guy when we got outside and he was saying that he was there for a sales person job interview and he was mad and was even talking about calling the cops on the place for putting out a fake ad. A few weeks later I saw a "beezid" commercial and I thought "No way! That's the place those people were talking about!". It was so shady, and I still see those same "help wanted" ads in the paper. Really sketchy. I never met the guy I talked to on the phone, there was no hot blonde walking around, there were no cars or ipods, just a smelly office building with old school phones. Hope this helps people out.
