Bank Of America - BofA stealing money Internet

I requested that Bank of AMerica close my account because I was so tired of their ridiculous over draft fees. 3 months later I recieve a call that account was never closed and was now overdrawn $1800. When I went to check the account there was only actually $300 in charges, the rest were all fees for things they kept allowing to come in and they would return but charge me for them. This went on for 3 months while I was under the impression that the account was closed. I dont understand how any bank could continue to charge a non-active account (no withdrawals or deposits other that auto withdrawals) for over 3 months in excess of $1400. They are claiming I never requested the account be closed, as though they hire super humans that never make mistakes. I have already changed banks and they are still trying to steal my money. I have written the corporate offices and will be sending a letter to the CEO in regards to this matter.
