I would like to add my experiences to the list of negative experiences with Bank of America. Within the 2 years I have had two extremely unaccpetable problems with Bank of America.

In Dec. 2001 I filled a claim with Bank of America about a company that I had purchased vehicle parts from. I asked B of A to get my money back because I had ordered the parts from the company and recieved nothing in return for 3+ months.

B of A automatically credited the amount of $1800 back into my checking account and began their investigation. I received no contact nor information on my claim for 2 months.

Then In Feb. of 2002 I checked my account balance and it's was over $1000 negative. It turns out that B of A FAILED to contact me in the event of needing further information about my claim.

They spoke with the company who is located in Colorado who told Bank of America that I had all parts that I purchased and that the parts had already been installed on my vehicle.

How would company in another state have access to this information? THEY DON'T. Instead of Bank of America contacting me, they automatically deducted the money right back out of the account. 2 weeks later my former room-mate brought me Bank of America's information packet concerning the claim. You see, Bank of America sent the information to my old address which had been updated at least 2 months prior to the large deduction they made to my account! They did nothing to fix the problem and I got the run around from each person I spoke with.

Next Bank of America Closed my account that I have maintained for about 3 years on Sept.11 due to a over-draft of $150 that I had on my account for 8 days. This was 2 days prior to the US military payday which presents a large problem because all military accounts are direct deposit.

They closed my account because they reserve the right to close an account due to an overdraft which is included in their paperwork they issue you when you open a account. However, I'm not upset about that. I'm upset with the customer service.

I was given the run around again for nearly two weeks after speaking with numerous customer service reps. Because I need to pay rent that payday, I ended up loosing my apartment simply because B of A couldn't get their procedures correct for almost 2 weeks.

After being fed up with speaking to people on the phone about this serius problem I went directly to a branch office where the customer service rep at the counter explained that what I need was ONE simple form and it would take 24 hours to relinquish my funds to me and close the account properly.

I lost a lot and had a very difficult time (seeing as my daughter's 3rd bithday was also Sept.11 2002) with all the things going on with terrorism and US Forces. Your customer service skills are extremely poor and I can see the support you show your customers and the US Military and US. troops!
