Bank Of America Ripoff Social Security Disability Check Garnished College Park Georgia

A collection attorney served Bank of America a summons of garnishment of my Social Security Disability Checking Account. Those idiots at Bank of America processed the garnishment and froze my bank account knowing that it only receives a SS Disability check.

The crooked collection attorney never had a court ordered judgment against me and he did not submit the proper paperwork for the garnishment. Bank of America froze my checking account on 11/22/2004, Bank of America released and dismissed the garnishment on 12/2/2004 before my next check was direct deposited on 12/3/2004.

Bank of America refused to refund the $75 garnishment fee and $66 in overdraft fees. I contacted Bank of America 3 times and asked them to refund my money they still refused. I then contacted Georgia Legal Services Program and they were able to get my money refunded to me after a lawsuit threat.

Although my garnishment only lasted one week before it was dismissed and now things are back to normal for me, I still plan to sue Bank of America and the collection attorney that started the garishment.
