BB&T Branch Banking And Trust BB&T Ripoff - Holds deposit checks Welcome North Carolina

I too feel that I have been ripped off by BB&T. I definitely do not feel that they are customer friendly.

BB&T put an 11 day hold on a $17,000 check I presented for deposit ($4,900 of it was put on hold for only 5 business days). I asked for an explaination and was only told that it was what the computer said to do. I have had both a personal and business account with them for many years, but I feel that they don't care. In today's world of electronic transactions, I find it hard to believe that it takes 11 days to clear a check, even an out of state check. The check was from a large nationwide company. Banks are earning an enormous amount of interest by claiming it takes 11 business days to clear a check. I believe they're ripping off their customers.
