I was a victim of the chase home loan modification scam. I was 1 payment behind in my mortgage due to income was less, Chase sent me a letter stating they could help. I called and was set up on a trial modification period which was to be for 3 mths and then a answer. I had to send in my whole life history (tax return/ self employment finances / bills and whatever else they asked for). I sent these forms in and they claim they didn't get all of it....I turn around and fed ex it for 25.00 to them. I call next month to see where I stand ...oh its fine, we are still working on it, continue making the payments of 560.41 ( my original payment is 733.37) so I do this. The three months are over I call tos see whats going on , they tell me I didnt send in somthing again....once again fax this over , all is well. Three months go bye and nothing so I call again.....Oh you were denied , you dont make enough money... Next 2 days get a letter in the mail saying denied. I need to pay all the 3881.00 that I am now behind due to them b.s. me around. I can fill out another modification to see if I qualify again. "I told them that this is a fraud and that they are just trying to steal peoples homes". I got the letter on Sept 28 and every day after that they called my house harassing me for the 3881.70. I told them it's funny how I didnt get a call for 7 mths about this modification and I had to keep calling you guys, now you want to beat me down. How is it that I dont make enough to pay you the 560.41(never missed a payment) but I make enough to pay the 733.37 this doesn't make sense. I Iwas told that I had to fill out paper work to see if I qualified fo a payment arangement....WHAT!!!! They called me the next day , fustrated agin wondering how did my amount get this high when my payments were only 173.00 less than normal payments @ 7 months, plus the month I was behind 733.37 plus late fees would only be 2305.09. I went to the bank to pay 1300, was told I couldnt pay this amount and that my house was on the short sale list. WHAT THE F***!!!!! No one informed me of this and I sure didnt agree to this. I borrowed the rest of the money to pay the 3881 and they still wouldnt take the money , even the bank manager was pissed off.
