Forced into bankruptcy when Countrywide returned payments (my check was 14 cents short), I thought things were finally under control with these people. How foolish of me. You can NEVER trust Countrywide. They have just written to me saying that my payments are once again behind. After spending the day going over everything scrap of paper(I would never send them a payment I could not track), I have found that it has taken them as long as 77 days to post a payment. Dumb me assumed that because they had received the payments they had been posted. I was, of course, charged me late fees for their failure to post the payments. These people are a nightmare. The thought of the next 20+ years at the mercy of this company is horrifying, but I'm old and my credit has been destroyed by having to deal with this company. It would cost me a fortune to refinance. Talk about being caught between a rock and huge boulder called Countrywide. And it goes on and on and on. . . . There has not been one days piece since they took over this loan.
