I have excellent credit. I opened an account in '03 with a very large balance for for uncovered surgery. I have been making payments twice monthly at sometime four times the required amount. I received a bill recently with an extremely high finance charge. When I called customer service, they said a letter had gone about 6 months ago, stating Fleet was now Bank of America and my interest rate would had gone up from a flat 8% to 10%. I asked them to change it back. They said no.

As soon as I find a lower interest rate card I will transfer my account. Their attitude was as if I were in the wrong and I should be lucky to have them. NOT. I don't like this kind of twist your arm attitude, when there are plenty of other companies who would love to have my money.
