You would think when you have overdraft protection wih Key Bank you avoid the famous $ 38.00 overdraft charge ? Surprise, you don't.

I didn't even go into my overdraft protection available balance. I wrote checks and Key bank claims the funds were unavailable and charged me $ 38.00 a check ! 7 times !

I can't understand that because my overdraft protection would pay if the funds weren't available. They honored the checks, at $ 38.00 a pop. And didn't even go into my overdraft available line, they used my unavailable money to pay.

Even though you have an available balance with overdraft protection that covers checks if your own money isn't available yet, you still get hit with the $ 38.00 fee.

Bottom line, if you have overdraft protection and bounce a check or have unavailable funds, you still get hit with their $ 38.00 a check fee. They hit me numerous times with this, all for unavailable money.

And by the way, Key Bank processes my mastercard and visa, and I still get hit !
