Key Bank of Ohio Sucks

Recently my son had his truck repossessed up by this bank because he was behind on the payments less than 60 days. He was in process of mailing them a check the morning that they picked the truck up.
He called them right away and told them he had the money to catch the loan up to date and that he was willing to do so along with sending in an additional months payment. They advised him that they would have their redemption department call him back with 48-72 hour and that they would work with him to reestablish the loan so he could take possession of his truck. This was on December 21st, 2001. As of December 29th he has received no phone calls.
He has made it a point to call them everyday since sometimes 2-3 times a day and all he has gotten is the same response. I asked him to call the impound yard to see it the truck was still there and told him it was shipped to the auction on Thursday.
I know that he (my son) should have not put himself in this position and that he created this situation. But I also know that most banks are willing to work with their customers to try and out them back into their vehicle so that they can pay the balance of the loan.
The bad part is he is going to be father and has only been married a short time. Now he has no way to get his wife to the doctor or to himself to work. They live in rural area of Arizona and bus service is not an option for them.

I owned my last house for 14 years. I never was late or missed a payment in the first 12 years. In fact I had prepaid the principal down to less than half of the purchase price. In the 12th year I had a setback and called the bank AHEAD of time to let them know I would miss the NEXT payment. I would make it up over the next three or four months. I was told the would start foreclosure the day after the payment was due. Well, wouldn't you know it? Day one past the payment due date I received a notice and threat of foreclosure. I continued to make my other payments on time. So what did they do? They refused any partial payment of the missed payment and on top of that every month that payment became another 3o days past due. By the time it was done, even though I kept payments up, I was 120 days late. That gave them the excuse to attempt to foreclose. At the eleventh hour I came up with the total missed payment, PLUS late fees, to stop the foreclosure!
The first moral to this story is MOST bankers are pariahs and have NO conscience. The second moral is the more equity they can steal the faster they will try to foreclose.
