MBNA AMERICA ripoff, called for accout payoff, was given one, and now they are trying to collect extra intrest Wilmington Delaware

Called them for account payoff was given a figure by an individual who did not give his name. I paid off account and closed it. Then I get a letter saying that I had a certain amount of account credit on my card. I then called and told them i wanted the account closed. I then received a bill for $84.00 in interest.

When I called about it all I got was the runaround and was told if I didn't pay it they would file and adverse report with the credit bureau and ruin my credit. I told them to go ahead I was not paying it.
