    ...the right way!
    Corporate Advocacy Program
I had been a banking customer with this institution for about 2 years and recently have been having trouble with them. In the beginning, when I opened the account online, I opted out to NOT recieve paper statements! I have continually recieved statements on the account. I have moved from the address on file with the bank, THEY REFUSE TO TAKE MY NEW ADDRESS OVER THE PHONE. I was told to log into my account to change it there, I CANNOT LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT! At this point, I do not want to give a new address change to them!!! They have made my whole banking relationship horrible!!! They have ruined my banking credit!

An 'mystery' amount of $99.00 was drawn on my account TWICE! They cannot tell me where it came from, and I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THAT TRANSACTION! They charged me NSF fees! They say a balace is 35.00, which they say has been 'charged off' and that I was 'sent overdraft notices' WHICH NEVER CAME! NOR HAS THE AMOUNT THEY SAY SHOWN UP ON ANY PAPER STATEMENTS! I have also made several calls before Aug. 2, 2003 on this matter, they only mentioned the dates convenient to them!
I have also reported this bank to the Better Business Bureau before that letter was recieved. None of my bank statements show any 'negative balance' at all! Even the most recent ones! If I owed them such monies, you would think that I would be recieveing statements stateing such! I have not recieved any corresondence like that! Only zeroed bank statements which I opted out not to recieve in the first place and being charged for them at the same time!

This bank SHOULD be closed down due to BAD BANKING BUISNESS PRACTICES! If a checkbox is clicked to opt-out on something as important as recieving paper statement, then it should work properly!

I don't even care my account has closed! As far as I am concerned this bank is a haven for THEIVES!!!
DON'T BANK WITH NETBANK!!!
THEY ARE CRIMINALS! :-(

#1 Consumer Suggestion

All of this can be avoided

AUTHOR: Alison - Alpharetta (U.S.A.)

First of all, it is absolutely your responsibility to make sure your address is correct. Furthermore, if you are not supposed to be receivng mail about the account (eStatements and eNotices) then you should be able to log into your account. If you cannot log into your account, it is your responsibility to obtain your log-in information.

If the bank does not take verbal address changes, you can buy a stamp, write a letter and sign it. You may also send a signed fax transmission. If you choose not to do this, the bank cannot be responsible for its inability to send information via US Mail. Banks have policies in place to protect your account and your personal information, and they have to follow those policies. Employees cannot make exceptions for your convenience, and rarely are policies negotiable.

Finally, if you are confused about wether or not you are charged off, you should inquire with ChexSystems.
