PNC Bank Unnecessarily long check clearing times and ridiculous nsf fees Pittsburgh Pennsylvania

PNC bank has been charging an unusually high amount for check charges. The fees are ridiculous because it takes so long for them to clear a check.

Last month I was trying to clear a check between my daughter and myself. It took 3 days for it to clear. In the interim I was charged $36 for each transaction; most of these transactions were under $10.00. I asked them to hold the check at the bank. They said they would and then didn't; once again the check bounced and another load of NSF charges to a grand total of $428.00. I told the branch manager that this was horrible and unnecessary. Her comment, "Well, they aren't as bad as BB&T." Obviously she knows what they do isn't quite right.

It apears to me that there's some discrepancy between the available balance and the ledger balance. PNC seems to manipulate the timing of cleared checks. Also when you bounce a check, suddenly all your check card withdrawals seem to appear out of nowhere. One of those withdraws I saw hapened two days previous and it was fine but when a check was bounced suddenly it was moved to another day. Not good. The customer service is absolutely terrible.

I have $428 in overdraft fees. The ledger at the bank was updated and reversed to make sure on that day, when I was in the negative, that is was indeed time for them to take out for NSF fees. It looked like it was in the positive and I made these small withdrawals.

I've had it with PNC bank. I actually see that they are charging all these fees and appear to be manipulating the timing of clearing checks, etc.

I've never been this disgusted with a bank.
