Maybe our problem isn't that terrible compared to what I've read other people post. We haven't been assesed fees by Wachovia or had money go missing. But we deposit money and it doesn't even show as processing for a week. Then we go to pay our bills and it takes more for a week for it even to show up on the account- let alone clear. It doesn't cause problems with our bank because we keep great records in our check book (we don't use the checks for anything but keeping track of funds) but all of our bills end up being late. I'm also worried that with the time that it takes for money to post (including cash that's deposited) that automatic w/d for bills will find insufficient funds...even if we have deposited our checks and cash a week earlier. It also makes it so important things... like grocery shopping or buying books for school has to be put off until all of the funds are clear. Grocery shopping isn't something that we can just put off for a week until the bank decides to get to it...you know?
My fiance had to pay the registration on his car this month. He paid it online on Monday of last week. It's now been 8 days and nothing has posted and he's in danger of being pulled over and ticketed if it takes much longer because the State has not received the funds.
The bank itself says that's just the way it goes. I got a joint account with my fiance when we got engaged so we could pay bills together and we both had previously used another bank. Neither of us have ever had this problem. Has anyone else had a problem with this? We're thinking of switching despite the fact that we've only been there for a couple of months. We don't want to have our credit ruined because student loans and car payments take too long to post. Has anyone else had problems like this?
