About 3 months ago i paid my trash service which was about $53.00 Because i did not had enough money to cover it they took $70 out of my of my account $35 for the 1st and re-deposit again 2nd time for another $35 I was down and broke I hate it but i am too busy ..... i kind of forgot about it
Then this morning 7/27/11 i stop by just for quick deposit the teller was very nice greeting me when my turn up then asking me how do i like banking with them I said i do not like wells fargo because of the $70 incident she said sorry and have i wait in the lobby for someone taking care of it. After 20-25 minutes waiting Finally i got the chance talk to them which took about 1 minute they said nothing they can do about it.
Now i am late for work and still loss $70
Thank you

You stated you did not have enough money to cover your transaction but it is the bank's fault?? Wrong - that is your fault for not taking responsibility for your finances. They are also not to blame for you being late for work. Chalk it up to a learning experience ie: start tracking your monies with a CHECK REGISTER!

You were charged two NSF fees because the $53 payment was presented twice.

are a bunch of crooks.
Do $140 worth of damage to the branch, or the branch manager's car.

The number of times an item is presented for payment is at the dicretion of the bank presenting the item. Usually it's twice and then the check is returned to the depositer (in this case the trash service) who usually add a returned check fee and possible refuse to accept checks from you for future payments. Some banks however will continue to present a check for payment until it is paid or until it's returned stop payment. Each time the check is presented and returned will cause a fee. Can be once or I've seen five fees for one item that was presented five times. The bank doesn't look to see if the item's been presented before. The processing is all automated. The system looks at account number and then the amount. If your account has enough the item is paid. If not, the item is returned unpaid causing a NSF fee.
Unfortunately this was your error by not having the money in the account to cover the check when it came through, either time. And most banks will only consider about the last month for possible refunds. You may have gotten a partial refund if you had called/gone in right after the fees.
