Very simple. As others have mentioned, when you check your account in the evening and you have a positive balance. Next day you are negative as something unexpected shows. You balance the account within hours of it posting negative. They then place multi overdrafts on your account.

The terms/use policy states they will OD only if it closes a business day overdrawn. The issue is that it does not close overdrawn and they hit the fees anyhow. You can not prove it without having a screen shot of the prior day closing and the next day overdraft. Then you can.

Well i tested this and YUP! they are doing it. I called the 800 number and he confirmed how they charge only if overdrawn at close of business day. They I let him know there are screen shots contradicting. He was speachless, reveresed the charges and was going to have them "Look into it". I dont believe he knew but do believe he was surprised that i have the evidence. There are several of these complaints and feel there is a class action here.

I worked at wells and have had an account for 15 years. They were a bit of a mess, hiring 18 year olds to keep cost down and had many errors. I think they are now officially exploiting customers to increase revenue. I'm in for a class action.

Hello

AUTHOR: OC23456 - Irvine (USA)

there could be alot of things going on with your account. You may have had items that posted that night, or you had items that were causing your account to be overdrawn. Best thing to do is to use a checkbook register and manually add and subject your credits and debits. Its plain and simple. Its your responsibility to keep track of what goes in and out of your account, and not the banks. If its anything fraud and what you do is that you file a fraud claim with them and if its found in your favor all the charges and fees will be waived for you 100% and if its not found in your favor then your stuck with an overdrawn account. Its plain and simple, the moment your account is account is overdrawn and you have items that have already posted you will be charged overdraft fees the next business day. But in certain states such as washington and new mexico I feel bad for them because there order of posting works a little different.

Re Wells Fargo Bank Overdraft charge scheme San Diego California ... Hello

AUTHOR: OC23456 - Irvine (USA)

My message is for the customer from San Diego..This is by far the most pathetic post and excuse that I've ever read so far on this website...You claimed that you "worked" as wells fargo before, I find this VERY hard to believe because everything that you said are a bunch of lies. Even if you ever worked at Wells Fargo you were probably a janitor or a security guard. Listen what you see in the evening does not include what is suppose to post that night during processing. When you make transactions with your "check card" using the debit option it posts the "next business day" and when you use the credit option it can take anywhere between "1 to 3 business days" to post. So what you saw that night was your real balance but it didnt include what was sent through processing that night. Therefore it was your fault for not keeping track of your purchases. Its that simple.

Yeah, so, Ms. San Diego's post isn't pathetic at all!  Wells Fargo sucks!  There should be a class action suit, I'm all for it!

Wells Fargo, they pick and choose which items they want to pay or return and they rearrange your charges by dollar amount, NOT date!  And while the arrangement doesn't matter, because I do use a check registry, WELLS FARGO IS STILL ABUSIVE!

I've read a lot of complaints about Wells Fargo and their Overdraft Fee Practice.

The FACT and complaint is Wells Fargo does indeed take advantage of the "overdraft" situation per basis. They do NOT have a set standard, they do as they see fit to pocketing extra money!

I have first hand experience on that. I know Wells Fargo deliberately chooses which items they will honor or return! I have made the mistake in balancing my checkbook wrong and writing processing a bad electronic check. (I don't like writing checks anymore or buying them) I was short $50.00 once. Wells Fargo RETURNED that check. They also charged me the $35.00 fee. I DIDN'T complain. My mistake!

But this time, I'm very angry with how they are treating an overdraft on my account.

I had an electronic check in the amount of $866.82 from Toyota Financial hit my over the weekend. I had set up an electronic check to cover two payments, I ment to set it up for the 23rd of October when I got paid. Somehow, it processed early on the 9th. Now I figured, I'm going to get an NSF fee for this and they were going to return the check because I was short $357.00 to cover this, last time when I was short $50.00 they returned it.

But, they DIDN'T!! And because they didn't, all the other 9 transactions I made (not knowing about this check to Toyota) even one in the amount of $2.51 were rearranged to hit AFTER the Toyota check so that Wells Fargo could make an extra $350.00 in fees off of me. Even a transfer & withdrawal were made before the check, but rearranged to hit AFTER the Toyota bill.

Now, the date was my mistake, I didn't know I accidently picked that date.  So I'm fine paying a $35.00 fee for a returned check!  But that is just it, they should have RETURNED THAT CHECK!  I was SHORT $357.00!!  But they didn't so they could make money!  And it took me sending a letter saying I was going to the media, BBB & congress to complain, now they want to investigate.  Figures!

Now, you so called Wells Fargo employees could tell me Wells Fargo DOES NOT DO THAT, but then explain to me why they would return an electronic check where I was short only $50.00 but honor a check where I was short OVER $350.00??? I think any sane and smart human being would immediately know and say....."They did that to make money!"

BINGO!

I've done some research. Apparently, Wells Fargo has some lawsuits against them and are also well-known and documented doing this type of crap to other consumers.

This message I've written is for consumers only! I don't care what you Wells Fargo employees have to say, so save your breath and don't reply.

Thank you!

P.S. Transactions ARE rearranged on your account to come out LARGEST to SMALLEST dollar wise. NOT by the date they happened!!!! And, a withdrawl I did on an ATM on the 9th, is still pending and has been re-dated to October 13th. Credit card purchases I did on the 9th are posted on the 9th. Technology better at Wells Fargo?? My butt!

Listen, your last post was a bunch of BS. Wells Fargo does not choose on the way that items post..All banks (the ones in california) post from highest amount to lowest amount. I bet you anything in the world that you would see this with citibank, bank of america, chase, us bank, cal national and credit unions. Your coming up with a bunch of excuses so you can join a class action law suit against wells. And as far as having items paid or returned I would suggest you to visit the branch you opened the account in and speak to the branch manager because their the ones who make the decisions to have your items paid and have a 35 overdraft fee or items returned and have a 35 NSF fee .I'm pretty sure they would be able to give you a better answer to why you were charged the fees..honestly is that hard to keep track of everything you buy and make payments to? seriously???

Anyone in the world can 'Google' this- BANK EXECUTIVES PROFITING ON THE DEATH OF EMPLOYEES, and read where Wells Fargo has $17 BILLION in 'secret life insurance policies' on its employees....

AUTHOR: Karl - highlands ranch (U.S.A.)

and so does Bank of America. Chase has $11 BILLION in 'secret life insurance policies' too, according to that article, right?

Hmm...let's see... $17 BILLION + $17 BILLION + $11 BILLION = $45 BILLION, correct? That could help to pay back some of the 'TARP' money (TAXPAYER'S money) that was handed over to these banks by our wonderful government, right?

WELCOME TO AMERICA- ONE MASSIVE LIE!

P.S. Don't forget to visit the 'BANK OF AMERICA' page of this site & the 'NISSAN' page too. And the 'MERRILL LYNCH' page is always a good place to visit, as is the 'TOYOTA' page.

To the OP, what does your register say?  And to Karl, from Highlands Ranch, have you nothing better to do than to spread your conspiracy theories on every post on this website?
