I have been going to McCroskey's Barber shop for the past four-years. I stopped going after he raised the price of a hair cut to $7.00. Mr. McCroskey became less talkative (Psycho), and had been talking about me and my firends behind our backs, this I know because of the people I met up with in the past that would come and visit him. He watched re-runs of the Andy Griffith show all the time. Bored yet?

Well, to some things up this guys a real nut because you always respect customers even after I and my friends have given the dirty old man tips. This guy needs some lessons in treating customers better. Talking about customers behind their backs is for cowards. Also, shows how stupid people can be. $7.00 is a lot of money compared to $5.00 for a hair cut. No Fear...I am going to a better barber.

How were you ripped off? You stated that
you now go to a different barber, so where is the rip off? You stated the problem and your solution.
What help do you need? Duct taping Mr. McCroskey's
mouth would be against the law.

Do you work for the tourist industry? It
seems, with all these letters, that your trying
to put Sevierville on the map. I never heard of the place before your letters.

Really you need to WAKE UP!!! $7 for a hair cut i would never pay $7 for a hair cut unless it was at a barber school. my father owns a barber show and they charge $14 for a cut. Dont talk bad about the barber on-line. the truth is he will never see your post. Barbers are very simple people and enjoy conversation. are you sure your sources that your barber was talking about you bad were valid. babrers talk but would never talk about about a customer becuse every 3 or 4 weeks you hand them $7. that would be liek you walking in you bosses office and taking a crap on his desk and expecting to keep your job. HAHAHA quit whining

I am so amazed. Where I live $25 for a hair cut is cheap.

If this is a small town maybe the barber isn't the only one talking. I grew up in a small town and the people on the other end of town know who took a dump before they even flushed.

The reason the barber raised his fee from $5.00 to $7.00 is because you were too cheap to tip! Tipping is customary in that profession and is part of his income. He has become quiet because he has nothing to say to a cheapskate. You have insulted his work. The barber is hoping that a price increase and the silent treatment will send you down the street to one of his competitors. It has worked beautifully!

He has probably told all the business people in town that you are a cheapskate as a public service! 

If you never liked the barber or the atmosphere of his shop, why did you keep going there? Because you are a cheapskate and that was the cheapest place in town to get a haircut. Now, you have to go down the street and pay more. Did you learn anything, or has your narcissism blinded you from any insight?

Cheapskates never change, they just get cheaper. He is still out there chiseling and conniving his way through life to save every penny, making himself and everyone else miserable. This type of compulsion alianates prospective friends, his unfortunate family and is the height of narcissism!

Hey Y'all.  The original report was from 9 years ago, complaining about McCroskey's going up to $7.  Well, it's still $7.00, he's still watching reruns of Andy and Bonanza and it's still a good place for a haircut and conversation.  He doesn't gossip, but he does make observations on the truth.  God Bless you and Merry Christmas.  Hugh in Sevierville
