BBB asked us to join repeatedly, and then 4 months after paying them the $500 that they asked for they revoked our membership for having 24 complaints in a 3 year period. We see 4,ooo people a year, thats 12,000 in 3 years, and they said 24 complaints was too many, so they cancelled our membership and kept the $500. They are a total scam. Never join the BBB!!!

What's your company name? 24 too many?

AUTHOR: Packerfann - Milwwaukee (U.S.A.)

You must agree with the BBB or you would have posted your company name and real information. 24 does seem too high. I know companies that see 1000's of customers per year and have no compaints and rate A+. Even if you have a lot of complaints, maybe you did not solve them.

That is just silly..

AUTHOR: Lana - Milwaukee (U.S.A.)

You are angry because the BBB would not tell consumers that you have good buisness pratices when you do not? That is the whole point of the BBB is to educate consumers regarding a certain company. I have the feeling you think because "we gave them money we should just be given a good rating". That would be like a bribe. It kinda goes on the theroy a Defense Attorney hiring a expert witness to speak at a trial, but just because you pay this guy he should side with the Defendant. These people are to be unbiased and speak the truth. I think the complaint you made only improves the reputation of the BBB, I know they are giving me accurate info.

Whole story?

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoeix (U.S.A.)

I personally know of several companies that have had as many or more complaints and have not been kicked out. The difference may be that they resolved those complaints.

You again..

AUTHOR: Lana - Milwaukee (U.S.A.)

Flynryder, You are the one who called me stupid on another post, I read several posts you made over time, I see you are very qualified when giving money advice,I am seriously asking can you give me proper guidance on how to deal with my hideous credit. I just can not pay off the debt or judgements we have incurred over this hard time we had. I mean I can but would using a credit counseling place help me? I checked out several ones and they all had serious complaints against them. I am in a land contract and have until Aug. 09 to finance with a bank and I do not know how to clean all this up. I have steady income, but do not know who or what to pay first. I am asking nicely for your advice. Thanks

Hi Lana

AUTHOR: Flynrider - Phoeix (U.S.A.)

I am not a financial advisor by trade, just someone who has paid for mistakes in the past and learned a lot from them.

In order to get out of a financial hole, the first thing you need is a detailed plan for paying off the debt along with a realistic budget to make it happen. You can do this yourself, or you might need some financial advice. The plan could include debt consolidation. Debt consolidation makes sense on paper, but you pointed out the obvious problem. It seems that there are just as many scams out there as there are legit consolidators. Another is that the fees sometimes cancel out any savings.

As a start, I'd recommend visiting Dave Ramsey's website at (((ROR redacted))). I have several friends that have used his no-nonsense methods to get out of debt. I'd recommend clicking on the FAQ button on the bottom left to get started. Good luck!

sorry, …allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. Hello, I will google the name you gave me and go from there. I did sit down the other day and looked at my credit report and added up my debt. I owe 15,000. The company that is working with me, said I had 28 debts. I had a mini heart attack. I looked at the report, and found that I had 11 reports for $3 a peace for never paying medical co pays.I do not want to sound dumb, but would my best bet in tackling this credit disaster is to pay all the little stuff first? Is it the amount of money thats looked at, or the amount of reports? or both? I need to correct last post. I have until 2010 to fix up my credit. The company I refered to is my land contract lenders. They also said to open 2 lines of credit. I can not open any valuable credit lines at this time. The ones that would give me credit are scammers. Like major fees to open it, and high intrest, why would they want me to go that route? Thanks again for the advice, I will follow up!
