Direct Tv unauthorized debit withdrawal Indianapolis Indiana

I went online today to check my bank account and see what money i had left after paying a few bills. I was quite surprised to see a withdrawal from 1/2/09 from Direct Tv in the amount of $233. I do not have a Direct Tv account in my name, and never signed up for automatic withdrawals on my debit account. I have however paid my mothers Direct Tv bill with my debit card.

A few months ago I had Comcast installed and we stopped using Direct Tv. It would not be my responsibility to disconnect or pay any back bill on that account, as it was not in my name. Even though I did pay this bill with my debit card I should not have been charged for what my mother owes.

Even if the account had been in my name they would have no right to take my money without authorization. If I had never signed up for automatic bill paying, why should they be able to use my debit card to pay a back bill. Why should they even have that account on file if it was not set up for auto pay.

I am glad that I found this site so soon and can immediately take action. On Monday I will use the advise given on here and try to get my money back.

If Direct Tv wants the money they can go to the person whose name is on the account, and go to collections and whatever else they want to pull. It is not, and should not be my responsibility to pay anyone's bills but my own no matter my relation to that person.
