First let me explain how the fixya.com site works, then allow me to explain the issues that has been going on over the months.
First if you want to be a Expert you create a account answer 50 questions. Based on those 50 with quality in mind you are approved by there STAFF witch basically does not know the TRUE-NESS of the actual solution given.
Now I can put that I am a plummer with 50 years of experience but its not verified.
If you want a site with verified experts and with a huge peer review you need to pay allot more money first off then roll your dice if the solution even works.

Anyone can go to a accredited school CHEAT the system and get a paper that says they are what they say they are.
So has Fixya done?
They setup a lounge where experts can come in and basically BULL DOG each other in front of there lovely staff there post deleted but the Expert that defends him/herself gets BANNED from the lounge then all the fun starts happening.
Your Complaint might be dead on YES Fixya has some REALLY BS Experts but let me tell you those BS experts are still blowing there whistle at the TRUE experts so they will have there reign over at fixya.com.
Now there are still some Really cool experts on Fixya.com that Really know there stuff.
But Darn Fixya.com for not activating the ASK ME function so you can choose before you pay!!
Fixya.com is not a bad place, its not a ripoff because you do get your CASH back and let me tell you how!
Email premium.support@fixya.com they will REFUND you all of your $19.99 back then the expert will get a FAT REFUND in his ledger and just enough of those refunds will land him a NICE email telling him he better think twice because he just lost his expert status.
Then there is that Customer that really got there solution taken care of but emailed premium.support@fixya.com the expert a FAT refund in his ledger with a nice little warning.
So there are two sides to the story here YES you could of been ripped of by a EX-PURT that does not know his A$$ from a hole in the ground, or you could have gotten what you needed and decided shoot I could have googled that and ask for a refund.
Allot of customers that go to Fixya.com, sure needs a Fix BUT in most cases that is not going to happen within that first session, computers need to be rebooted, parts need to be purchased,supplies need to be purchased the list goes on.
So who really gets the crappy end of the whole ordeal the Customer? the expert? or both?
As a former expert I am going to tell you I spent 4-8 hours on Fixya.com providing FREE support to the un apprciated audience to get a rating, with that rating I am what they call a premium expert, BSE. or what have you. With that said 4-8 hours of time to get the rating I got does not CERTIFY me with nothing. It is just a rating from other clients but its not a TRUE system it will never be.
To pay for a certified expert it will be $80-$100 just to have them look at YOUR issue then another what? $200-1,500 to Fix YOUR problem?
Look if you can not do it yourself do not go to Fixya.com for advice! You need to:
1. Have the parts
2. Have the SERVICE MANUAL
3. KNOW WTF your doing
Then you can point your browser to www.fixya.com for some help!
until then do not post garbage that you got scammed or. You just got owned for your own stupidity.
