GETTY IMAGES INC 'SCAMERICA' - Sends 1000's of demand letters to unsuspecting consumers Seattle, Washington

Do not respond to any Demand Letter you receive from Getty Images. They use internet 'crawlers' to seek out 1000's of photographic images which have been used unwittingly on websites and for which ther is no copyright license on file. The consumer has generally retained a web developer to use photographic images to reflect a message on the website. They have no idea that the images supplied to them were copyrighted.

Getty sends a Demand Letter requesting that a fee be paid to them within 21 days of the date on their letter. Unsuspecting consumers settle. Don't settle. There is the law and there is justice expected by the consumer within the law. This is a  scam - within the law.
