RJM/Jefferson Make a Deal/Pay the Money/Try and Recollect Under a Different Name Syosset , New York

A few months ago i was sent by mail two letters from RJM aqusitions. Both were from two very old bank debts-one from Banknorth and one from Wachovia. I was informed that if i paid them at that time that they could settle the debts for a fraction of the true amount-one was around 172.00 and the other around 186.00.
 So i made the deals, soon thereafter i sent in the first one for the oldest debt for Banknorth-which they sent me a confirmation letter stating that it was paid. 2 weeks later i sent the second one in. Well that was almost a month ago and I haven't recieved any confimation letter yet. But, today i go to my mailbox and find a letter attempting to collect the same Wachovia debt that i already paid by another company called Jefferson Capitol.
 
After searching the web i come to find out that they are one and the same or at least they work together and have a number of fraud complaints against them. Here i was thinking that finally after all these years i had finished paying off every debt that was owed, and i felt good.....until today...Christmas eve 2011.

Unfortunatly its Saturday and of course they are not open, so spend my Christmas worried that i have been screwed out of all the money i sent in. It was bad enough that Wachovia screwed me on the way they process the largest charges first everyday not the order they come in, but now i feel i might be out another 186.. plus dollars--and even worse that my payments may not be reported so my credit history will never show this......
 It really sucks that people like me struggle to  make ends meat, work our fingers to the bone to in the end get screwed by someone even when we are trying to do the right thing.
