a few month ago, I have purchased 13 micas (x2) 1 ounce of each, 7 oxides (x2) 1 ounce of each, extra 6 oxides, 1 ounce each and only ended up with half the amount of what I expected.

As I weighed the product without it's packaging, I was shocked to find that most were only 1/2 an ounce and a few were even less than half! (as shown in images 1 & 2)

Sure it's 1 ounce or almost IF I weigh the product with it's container!

I even posed as a new customer using a different email address and enquired about the Micas correct amount and the email went as followed:

Is your Ultra fine Mica a pearlised one or matte?
Also is your 1 ounce mica sold exactly as 1 ounce or is the 1 ounce a netweight
including packaging?
Thanks

Hi Poppy it is more Matte as it's very fine. It's one once by weight not including the packaging.
Cheers

I received my purchases of oxides & Micas in a half ounce container labelled with 1 ounce! I am offended that I could be fooled by such an obvious thing.

I have purchased other oxides from other sites and they always come in a much larger 1 ounce containers so I know the difference.

I have contacted Rebecca recently and have not recieved a reply as yet. I'm appalled as I have paid twice as much for less of the product. A total rip off if you ask me.

...and false advertising to mislead customers like myself.

Customer Misreprented the situation

AUTHOR: Rebecca Midkiff - Tucson (USA)

Please find the following cut and pasted from my interaction with this customer. Unfortunately not only has she out and out lied, she also has misrepresented what I told including leaving out my offer to refund her in full. Not only did she fail to do her own research she did not read the information provided on my website. Some people just want something for nothing as the price is reflective of the product. The item she emailed me about under an assumed name is in fact sold by weight whereas the colors are not. The emails below will speak for themselves. Sincerely, Rebecca Midkiff Hello Rebecca,

It has been awhile since I have ordered the items listed below
and since I initially recieved them but I have an important enquiry as
to why my 13 Micas were 0.5 ounce or less each?? I only found this out
as I have been busy working hard on launching the site that would
ultimately sell products made by my purachse from your online store. I
have just recently weighed them all and found a surprise.

I sepcifically remember, as listed below, that I ordered each 13 micas
in 1 ounce each. Sure enough my micas were 1 ounce each when weighed
with thier containers but does not amount to 1 ounce alone. Could I
please have some further explanation as to why that is? I'm not
particularly happy as I have chosen to use your site among others after
an extensive amount of research on which site would be most cost
effective. In the circumstance I have stated, I have actually paid
more for a smaller amount of micas.
I want to assume this is a genuine mistake and that you had no bad
intentions. I will await for a reply before I consider doing anything.
I hope that this can be resolved swiftly and ammicably. I have also
included pictures of some of the micas I have recieved for you to look
at. Please note the reading on the scale from the micas you sent.

Hope to hear from you soon! Hi XXXXX I refer you to the page regarding the pigments. http://www.diycosmetics.com/ catalog/Pigments-16-1.html We
certainly do not try to mislead anyone. Our prices are very low and
reflect the amount you receive. Our customers like to buy the pigments
in the pots versus messy little bags. If you would like to return the
products I will happily refund you in full.
Respectfully, Rebecca Customer, Hi again, I made a mistake on the oxides, I have purchased 7 oxides
(x3) as oppose to just x2. Anyways here are the images of one of the
micas you have sent me and yellow oxide. The yellow iron oxide is not
even a whole ounce 0.7 to be exact (with packaging). Now that's a total
rip off.
Please get back asap.

XXXXXXX Hi Anna Sometimes the powders settle a bit but certainly not this
much. That looks like only half? We fill them to the top. It could be
that you received one that had been opened. I have checked what we have
on our self and there are none that are just half full. As I said
people who buy our colors (and many do buy the pots to sell them on to
their customers buy them because they want them in pots. The pots alone
cost almost .73 each. I have searched for your order by last name. Do
you have the order number? I also doubled checked our site. It does say
1 ounce container.

At this point what would you like to do? Would you like to return them? If you are unhappy we certainly will take them back. Cheers Rebecca Customer Hi Rebecca,
Thank you for your prompt response. I am now aware of
the difference of the amount from the link you pasted. I'm just
disappointed I didn't get to read that before I ordered as I assumed
the pigments were sold in weight and not volume. I remember checking
for more descriptions and info on this but couldn't find any. Had I
known for sure it was volume instead of weight, I would have adjusted
the order for the amounts of fillers I ordered as now I have too
much fillers and not enough pigments. This has slowed down the whole
process of my business as everything is now put on hold till I can get
more funds to buy more pigments.
There is no need for me to send back the pigments. Thanks again xxxxxxx Last I heard from her. Will certainly not supply this customer again.
