This customer ordered, in good faith an iron king size headboard for $319 from yourwarehousedirect.com which is under the auspices of surgeretailgroup.com. What I received was a king size footboard, that was trimmed in gold, and was definately NOT as ordered. I followed the return procedures by email and it was requested that I take a picture and send it to the company, which I believed was a bit inconvenient. I did not hear from anyone for at least a week. At that point Brian Jones, the owner called me and was quite short tempered and rude, telling me he was the owner, and that things were somewhat disorganized and said he would get back to me. I was then asked to get in touch with Jeremy Kerker, and he would take care of it. Jeremy was initially attentive but ended up being patronizing and frankly somewhat dishonest! He told me that the sliders that were included in the package needed to be added to the footboard to make it a headboard!

I explained that that piece of information was not explained anywhere in the online description of the headboard. Since I have previously owned other iron beds that was never the case. He emailed me that the company "Fashion Bed Group" claimed that this was the way it was, and that if I wanted to "return the footboard there would be a 20% restocking fee as well as a round trip shipping charge, and there wouldn't be much of a refund anyway". This back and forth emailing went on throughout the month of June, until my husband said,"... just keep it, it is not worth it!"

Customer misunderstanding

We truly do apologize this customer felt their situation was not handled correctly. We feel we did take the appropriate actions in this case. We quickly took the customer issue and researched thoroughly. We contacted the factory the item shipped from and they did confirm the correct item did indeed ship. We notified the customer the correct item did ship and explained why they felt it was not and the reasoning. The customer did not read the description of the product. It was clearly posted in the description what they would receive. The item was a headboard/footboard. It had a sliding mechandism and the same piece acted as both. The actual piece was actually titled headboard/footboard and said it could be used as both. At this point we clearly gave the customer their options for a return as the correct item was shipped. Unfortunately furniture is expensive to ship. We clearly post our return policy. Unfortunately the customer was not willing to abide by our return policy and there was no further action we could take as a company.
