Consumers should know what kind of company Mattress Giant is. If they treat there employees like the following how do you think they are going to treat you if you have a problem with your purchase.
1) Sales people make $7.25 an hour, the store manager makes $7.25 an hour
2) You have to give $4000 every week to the house before you are able to make a commission
3) The commission goes from 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 percent to get the 10% you have to deliver 10,000 dollars a week. then you subtract 4000 and get paid 10% of 6000.
4) They change pay and bonus to meet their needs and do not tell anyone.
5) they pay new manager less bonus for hitting budget than managers.
6) Work you 50+ hours a week
7) Make you drive 35 to 50 miles one way to work
8) Give people with less time and lower sales volume managers position
If you are a Mattress Giant customer and you have a problem please be nice to the sales person. They will help you a lot more if your nice. We have been kicked and kicked and kicked to were we no longer like the job but we are stuck until the economy comes around
thanks

When we walked in the sales person had no clue about customer service, wanted to sell us a used mattress first, then went on to other people, did not fill us in on exchanges or. anything else for that fact. He was treated nice, but his attitude , was to make a fast sale and move on. Everyone works hard for there money I just hate the fact that we and other customers have been cheated, and lied to. Now we our stuck paying for something we can not use, 1200.00 mattress, and the customers, get the short end and they will not do a thing. Some day it will catch up with them, you can only be dishonest for so long.

If I understand you correctly... you work 50+ hours a week. That means @ $7.25/hr, after you factor the overtime, you're getting about $400.00 per week... whether or not you sell a dime. And assuming your somewhat of a good salesperson and "deliver 10,000 dollars a week. then you subtract 4000 and get paid 10% of 6000" that means you get another $600 for commissions. If my math is correct, and it is, that's a grand total of about $1,000 a week.
I know there are always 2 sides to every story. And to tell you the truth, I don't understand #'s 4 and 5. But using you own math you have a job where people can make $1,000 a week. You obviously are a weak salesperson and can't do this yourself. That is why your here complaining rather than spending your energy on learning how to do your job better. You should do everyone a favor and quit. I am sure there are plenty of people out there which would do a better job and that would love the opportunity that your describing.

Good afternoon,
I am inclined to agree with John, you should definitely quit and give the 50 million people out there looking for jobs and opportunity because frankly you don't deserve it. If you are going to be employed with a company you should give them 110%. If you are taking their money. Like John said the min. is about $400 so if you think about it you are getting 10% on that $4,000 to if you hit $10,000 in volume which is not hard to do if you are a just a "decent" sales person. You may not hit it every week but should often enough. In my experience, the people that have to drive all over are the people that don't do a good job, and complain constantly. I make great money doing what I do, and half the day you can read, watch movies, and when you get really bored respond to people like you. This person does not represent Mattress Giant as a whole. I would say the majority of the people that work for Mattress Giant are satisifed employess. Most sales positions don't have a min. guaranteed hourly. You either owe that out of your commision the next week which can add up quick or it can be like $200. The only thing I here a lot of Mattress Giant employees complain about is the taxes that are taken out of our checks. No matter what there is no excuse for poor customer service where at Mattress Giant customer service is #1. We also have a open door policy so feel free to leave.
