This has happened a total of two times now and I am absolutely fed up.

I have filed two separate complaints against a company that, according to Gina Bocchicchio of the Trenton BBB, do not fall in their "purview."  At the bottom of the email they sent me, it lists the reasons that a case wouldn't be investigated ("landlord/tenant issues, criminal allegations, requests for punitive damages, employer/employee disputes, cases already involved in litigation, civil right violations, business to business collection issues, complaints solely based on the price of products or services, or issues between private buyers/sellers, etc.")

My complaint involves a cell phone company that is not holding up their end of the deal.  I am paying for unlimited mobile internet and have not had this mobile internet since 6:08pm last Saturday (Jan 15, 2011), which makes it 10 days now.  They've promised to resolve this issue and have not done so.  After me bugging them much, they promised to send me a replacement phone since mine is still under warranty and they obviously can't figure out the deal with mine.  They have also failed to do this.  So why is my complaint against this company not a valid one??

I believe that either my cellular company is one of the many companies "paying for a grade" with the BBB and that is why they refuse to investigate this complaint, or the receiving Complaint Specialist is just too lazy to really look into it.  I am losing money because of it, and I am pissed!!

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Forget the BBB!! Don't waste your time!

AUTHOR: Steve - Bradenton (U.S.A.)

Forget the BBB!

The BBB has ABSOLUTELY NO POWER to do anything at all. They cannot force anyone to do anything as they are NOT any form of governement agency, or even a consumer protection organization.

The BBB is a "FOR PROFIT" business. The ONLY thing they care about is collecting outrageous membership fees, and extorting businesses who don't pay with negative ratings.

The BBB in my opinion is nothing more than an extortion scam.

The BBB is a very corrupt and useless organization. And, totally obsolete in today's internet society.

Don't waste your time with the BBB.

I suggest working closer with your wireless carrier to get this resolved, or find another provider.

The FTC and the FCC will take complaints.

And, you can legally break your contract if you have one without paying termination fees, if the reason is failure to provide service.
