Jody Eastman Sports Daycare Con artist, Crook, liar Urbandale Iowa

Jody Eastman hired me to work at his home, to be his coprovider for a class c in home daycare liscense. He offered me a biweekly salary and an hourly rate for nights and weekends along with housing in his basement apartment. After moving in, he refused to give me a contract as agreed and also changed the pay rate as he felt the need to (depending on his financial situation.)

While living there, running his business I began noticing that he was unprofessional and very good at telling people what they wanted to hear to get what he wanted but not so great at following through with his promises. He wouldnt supplie things needed for the daycare as planned such as daily sheets, batteries, or cleaning supplies. I had to hound him to include utilities as previously agreed upon(such as internet.) He welcomed himself and aloud his children to run freely through my apartment whenever they felt like it. He would lie to the daycare parents or just leave things out all together. He would change the daycare parents rates and then tell them he would no longer allow me to provide care to their children unless they paid more.

Him and his wife even got upset with me for telling a daycare parent that one of Jodys children told me that Jodys youngest child smacked her child in the face and in fact told me that "4 yr olds lie and I shouldnt have said anything, let alone believed her at all."

When I finally gave Jody a 30 day notice after many arguments between him, his wife and myself and still no contract and not the agreed upon pay, Jody in return gave me a two week notice that left me homeless and jobless two weeks before Christmas.

Although it was clear that none of us were getting along at this point, they made me work the entire two week notice, reminding me that if I didnt I wouldnt get my unemployment I had already filed for, while they came down every day arguing, screaming at and calling me names, in fromt of daycare parents and their children.

Once I moved out Jody continued to fight my unemployment saying that I quit on my own, and that I was never even an employee of his but a contract employee, which leaves him not responsible for unemployment nor the taxes he was suppose to be paying. It has been over a month and I am still fighting for unemployment.

After my employment with Jody ended, I actually met a girl (a minor) that Jody tried to hire for my job with my apartment at a lower rate then I was making a month and a half before he or I gave a notice and she refused it after a long time of negotiations with him about it. Even went as far as showing her my apartment while I was gone without notice.
