My wife and I were approached tonight by a young man and woman selling children's books and magazines. They said that if we liked we could have them sent to our troops in Germany and the books to children's hospitals of our choice. They said they were LSU students. We wrote a check for three of each. They said they were students in Journalism and were trying to earn money for a trip to Hawaii to write a book on Pearl Harbor. There were things about their conduct that did not add up.

After they left, I looked up their company on line. Not to my surprise, there were many complaints. " Thank you" to those who took the time to warn others down the line. I read that people canceled checks and other went further and closed accounts. I new that they were going further into the neighborhood, so I called the police to file a complaint. The police asked if I wanted to get my check back-- I said yes. The police then found the couple in our neighborhood and got the check back.

The police got the check back and were told by the two that they were from up north and students from Arizona and headed for Memphis.

They were liars and scammers and I am sure their company NXCESS is fully aware of these activities.

The police arrived within minutes and stopped this activity here but be forewarned and view online complaints to protect yourself.
