After my mother was receiving call after call looking for me, I decided to call this company and see what was going on.  When I reached Miss Brown, she refused to tell me any information as to what this was pertaining to.  As soon as I tried to ask more questions, she quickly transferred me to Agent Jackson (seriously??).  Right away he began a ten minute rant apparently going over my "file" etc.  When I tried to interrupt him to correct him on a matter, he was very rude and told me to stop talking so he could finish and continue looking over my file.  Throughout the conversation, he raised his voice at me trying to get me to back down, threatened me many times with a lawsuit, going after my employers, having people come to my door and get the money.  It was easily detectable that he was reading from a script.  After about ten times of trying to get the original name of the company who apparently sold my file to them, he told me.  It was an old payday loan.  Well it seems that I have a cease and desist order against this payday loan company and they still went ahead and sold my file and now I getting harassed by this collection company for money I do not owe.  I recently filed a cease and desist order against Rosenthal Stein and Associates also.  This could have gone completely different if this Agent Jackson person wasn't such a rude, inconsiderate, threatening, jerk.  I didn't back down at any point during the conversation.  His last words were, "if i don't hear from you by 4pm today, I am going to file suit, and now I'm going to hang up on you!"  click!   

I'm just really fed up with these collection agencies now using scare tactics via "lawyer type" names and jargon.

Liars

Rosenthal, Stein and associates are still doing the same thing and have been harassing me for three straight months, I told them I filed bankruptcy and they have refused to listen or contact my attorney who stated it is illegal for them to harass anyone after they are given bankruptcy information but the continue to harass me so that so called head of rsa is a liar when they say people have been fired because I have been contacted by agent jackson and hall who are never available and the receptionist lies and hangs up on those who call.

Dear RSA,

In response to your statement that this "Agent" has been fired, you may want to check your employee files and payroll files, as Agent Anderson reached me yesterday; unless of  course, this is a phony handle to alleviate your agents from any accountability for the disrespect your company exhibits to the general public.  I was threatened with prosecution and a "1020", which, in APCO 10 signals means "location", and in the finance world means just a basic form to obtain and gather information.  This company is pathetic.  Throwing out these threats is really counterproductive.  How are you going to make money and satisfy your client if the person that you need the money from is sitting in jail?  How are you going to give people a hard time over wanting a payment plan?  Wouldn't it be smarter to get a little bit of something instead of a whole lot of nothing?  Scare tactics don't work.  And nor do lies.  Your agents lie and so have you.  I hope your clients are aware.  If not, they are now.

Well I just experienced a similar situation with this RSA and while Agent Brown didn't transfer me she sure did hang up on me when I tried to get information about why she had called a relatives number with a bogus story looking for a child. She was quite indignant that I give her information before she gave me information. REALLY AGENT BROWN - was I born yesterday? I am going to give you information, on the phone, to a complete stranger?

The message they left made the person believe they were a law firm. LIARS LIARS. You run no reputable company - LIARS.

***This is the obvious rambling of a disgruntled ex-employee.While I am sorry that your employment at RSA was terminated so abruptly, attacking me and my company with such absolutely false, sophomoric and personal insults and lies is unprofessional and unethical.

To accuse me falsely and speak the way you speak is not only untrue; it shows your character or lack thereof. The employees at RSA are some of the BEST employees that I have had the pleasure of working with. We take pride in in being a legitimate and ethical debt collections firm and we strive to meet and exceed all FDCPA rules.

For this particular ex-employee, who continues to post false and defamatory accusations, we are seeking legal action in regards to a defamation of character case.

We have never intentionally charged more than authorized for any debt owed. We collect debts that are owed and we expect our employees to follow all FDCPA rules. When they do not, we take it seriously and handle these issues as any reputable collections agency would.

The above rebuttal is erroneous and unethical. It is truly easy to sit behind a computer and say anything you can make up to bash my company. We are a recovery agency and as such, we do not make friends when we fire people or even when we collect legitimate debts that are owed.

This is the obvious rambling of a disgruntled ex-employee. That is a clear indication that this report is falsified bashing in an attempt to get even and nothing more. Thank you for listening to both sides.

Another Issue with RSA

My name is Chris Warren, and I am now being harassed by RSA.  I have received calls from a Mr. Neil, who claims to represent the RSA firm.  I have received 6 calls from this man today (4/11/12) alone.  He told me that he would have "Agents" come to my place of residence, my job, or anywhere I was at to collect the money from me if he had to.  As I live in the state of Texas, trespassing isn't tolerated and I will file a report if any "Agents" come to my home. 

Next, this agent apparently doesn't know anything about his job as he conducted a phone call with a friend of mine who answered my phone while I was trying to reach out to any contacts I had to raise the money that I was informed I better come up with by Mr. Neal. He proceeded to give her information regarding me without any prior approval to give out my information to anyone.  I'm not stupid, and I'm not a lawyer, but I do know what confidentiality laws are and I know mine were violated on a "Recorded" line.  I also have the recordings from my cell phone because of his rude attitude.  All the information that he gave to my friend didn't pertain to me, and this may not even be my debt. 

I will be calling S. Williams regarding this particular matter, but the level of professionalism that was shown to me and apparently everyone else proves that the quality of the people hired by this company is not the "BEST".  The scare tactics don't work when people know their rights.  Apparently these agents don't know them either.

DO NOT call this "person". I checked to see if this collection agency had a surety bond in Texas and they DO not.  Therefore they are violating Section 392.101 of the Texas Finance Code prohibits a third-party debt collector or credit bureau from engaging in debt collection in Texas unless the third-party debt collector or credit bureau has obtained a surety bond and filed a copy of the bond with the Office of the Secretary of State.

Therefore file a report with the Texas Secretary and keep a record of all calls.  You can also contact a Consumer Lawyer in Dallas to find out about your rights!  Good luck to all those who are being harassed by these low life scumbags.

I really appreciate this information!  I will be calling the secretary of state today to file a complaint regarding this.  I will also be contacting a lawyers office to get assistance with this matter.  This situation with this company is getting out of control.
