I bought magic mesh sometimes ago in Aug 2011, over the TV commercial buy one get one free as advertise. I found out that the company had charged the tax on P&H as well in addition to the rip-off price. I paid 19.95, + 10 for deluxe and 7.95 for P&H. Through the phone system, there was no total cost of the product at the end of transaction. I had no idea how much it cost until I got the charge through my credit card for 99.72. I dispute the charge but the company send the invoice to my credit card which I had never seen before. They charge me for 2 orders, + deluxe cost $10 each, 7.95 x 4 pcs, and tax for the total amount, so 19.95 x 2, +$20, =59.90, 7.95 x4 = 31.8, and tax 8.75% = 8.02. I ask them if P&H should be taxed as well, they said no, but there was no explanation why?, I don't care for paying $2-3 more but if they keep doing this by charging tax to 100 people, how much they made, only tax alone on the P&H. I have not seen the invoice from them until my credit card co. has asked for so I can tell what the break down price. I checked on the internet order, there was no charge tax on P&H, may be only on the TV ad? I hope they should have upgrade their phone order system and internet order system to tell the consumer at the end of the transaction the total cost before start processing and giving chance to consumer to confirm the final order. By doing this, it fairs to everyone before placing an order, so the consumers know before how much we have to pay, not just know when the bill is showing up and we get surprised.

First off, NEVER order something over the phone. Go to the web site. They all have one and usually list it in the ad somewhere. If they don't DON"T buy it.
Judging by your astounging command of the English language, you are probably NOT the brightest bulb in the lamp. I live in Washington State. EVERYTHING here, except food is taxed, even shipping and handling. I suspect the same is true for California. It doed not mstter if the company is in Connecticut, if they do business in a state that has sales tax, they collect it.

call your credit card company and tell them you not only want to contest the charges, but you also want what's called a charge back. they will basically stop payment on the charge and return that to your card. watch the company call you after that to straighten everything out, plus i'm sure they'll pay for the return shipping. as for the other person who made the smart remark to you, they really need to get a life and get off their high horse. maybe join the rest of the real world instead of being so conceited and better than everyone else
