After six months of trying I am unable to get the Royal Virgin Islands Police to investigate the assault. After the lengthy process of filing a police report in Roadtown Tortola I had at least a dozen conversations with multiple officers who each assured me they would follow through. The charter broker Best of BVI washed their hands of the matter immediately. I was able to charge back my credit card for half of the total charter fee. I hope that anyone contemplating chartering a yacht in the British Virgin Islands will not make the mistakes that I did dealing with non-US companies. Make sure you deal with a reputable charter yacht broker in the US that is a member of CYBA. Make sure the vessel is of US registry and that the crew and ownership are also of USA. Had I done these things the Captain would of been alcohol and drug tested then thrown in jail. Because the owner (still unknown to me ) is South African, the crew British, and the vessel BVI registry I have virtually no recourse. The broker falsely claimed the crew had 18 months of successful charters before our charter. The truth was that there were only 5 weeks of charter and at least one documented complaint. The pycho crew of Captain John and Deb Grills are still chartering the BVI's torturing unsuspecting passengers aboard the sailing catamaran Free Ingwe.
