Starts off with a call claiming you would be put into a drawing for 50,000 and free watch.(Never received watch) Then they stated if I agree to a low-cost magazine subscription I would be entered into the drawing. I agree, and they explain the cost of the subscription in a very elaborate and deceiving manner. Then they pawn you off to a supposed supervisor who just happened to be walking by.

I agreed to speak with the supervisor. I asked her more than once if the price of the subscription was a flat rate and wouldn't be charged again and she said yes. The flat rate was for 67 dollars. She also said if I wanted to cancel I had to within 10 days and the paperwork including the magazine selection would arrive promptly. I never received the paperwork. The 67 dollars was taken from my account and received my magazines.

Couple of months later I get a call asking if I am enjoying my magazines. More into the conversation they sneak in that my subscription hadn't changed and it was still 3.99 a week or 40 dollars a month for 60 months!!! I stated that isn't what I agreed to, and I was transfered to a supervisor, who tells me the samething. I disagree once again and he hangs up on me! I try to call the number back on my caller ID noone answers.

The next day he calls back, with the same 3.99 a week for 60 months. I say no thatis not right, we have to work this out, and he hangs up again! I didn't hear back from them until a month later. This time he claims I haven't paid my due balance for months and I owed him 40 dollars by the end of the conversation or I would incur late fees. He then says I have already paid for half of my subscription and needed to pay the other half. I told him that's impossible because my bank statements don't reflect that.

Then I explained to him if I paid half of my subscription at 3.99 a week for 60 months I would have paid them 700 dollars or the shady 40 dollars a month would have been 1200 dollars!!! Then I asked for the recording saying I agreed to this non-sense and he said he couldn't play the recording over the phone for security purposes, but he would send me a copy as well as a copy of the contract I didn't agree to.

He said I still needed to pay the 40 dollars or he would report me to a credit collection agency, I still refused and he hung up on me. They haven't taken anymore money besides the intial 67 dollars, I can change my credit card number so they can't take anymore, but do they have a credible means as far as reporting me to collection agency for this bogus contract?
