KGLA Publications, Who's Who In Middle School Almost a victim! Canton Georgia

KGLA Publications, Inc. is a legitimate company that recognizes Middle School Students around the Nation. The great thing about being recognized in Who's Who Among Outstanding Middle School Students, is that students are getting the chance to put in biography form, all the activities and awards they have participated in and earned over the past few years. It serves as a great keepsake, one which students will be able to look back on years from now and recall their middle school years. There is no cost for being listed in the book and it is a great honor, one which to be very proud of. We offer parents the opportunity, if they desire to purchase a copy of the book but it is not mandatory to be listed. Students can be nominated by a teacher, coach, youth leader, parent etc. The nominator remains anonymous. It is up to the nominator to reveal their identity to the student or parent.

KGLA Publications has no knowledge of anyone being listed in the High School Who's Who publication in 1984 and would have no reason to mention anything about that book. Since we weren't the publishers we would not have that information. This honor is about the student we sent the application to and we are proud to have the students featured in our publications. The students can verify their proofs online, by email or by phone to ensure their inclusion in our publication. We are NOTa SCAM!

If you ARE a legitimate company...why would you need to change your name every few years. Madison Who's Who...Cambridge Who's Who...Empire Who's Who....etc, etc.

I unfortunately fell for this scam back in June 2006...and I must agree with many of the comments on Rip Off about your company...when it comes to recognition for your profession...you shouldn't have to pay for it!

You make people feel that they are important and special...and that there is an actual review process, to determine if they are chosen for your publication. Who have you actually turned down. Doubtful anyone...as that would mean you've turned down making more money for your company. I think it's deceptive...to make people feel...this is a real honor, and that they are being chosen, based on their accomplishments. When the truth is...they are only randomly sent letters...and your telemarketing staff follows up on those letters, and are trained to convince them, that they have received some type of special recognition for their efforts. After the whole "so called" review process...you then lay the big bomb on them...how much it will cost.

When I said, at the time...it was too much money...they told me...they could offer me a discount...and I could be registerd into Empire Who's Who, be listed online and in the publication...but for the less expensive version of this scam...I would not be receiving the printed publication. So I really had no way to check that I was actually printed in that edition at all.

Now that I've seen so many others taken by this ploy, as I had been...I will be reporting you to the Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau. And I want my money refunded. From one the rip off reporters experiences...even when you do state in writing (responding to their BBB report), that you WILL refund their money...you have not attempted to follow through with your promise.

Then we can all form a class action against this company...and make them refund all our money. I was invoved in another lawsuit for a company, taking advantage of consumers...and won the case, and did receive a refund. So, I'm certainly up for the challenge once again.
