I tried to purchase a book from these people on Alibris. The order went through, my credit card was charged, and I received an email stating that the book had shipped. Two days later, I received an email from AnyBookSales saying that they had cancelled the order (no explanation given) but that they couldn't credit my credit card because Alibris was the company who charged it.
After series of irritating email exchanges (there is no way to actually speak with anyone at Alibris), Alibris credited my card back.
The same day, i placed another order for the same book, not realizing that AnyBookSales was showing up in Alibris listings as "MoreBooks". The exact same exchange took place, and I am still waiting for Alibris to issue a refund.
I don't believe AnyBookSales has any books. I believe they post phony book listings for higher-value out-of-print books and, when they get a "bite", they scramble to see if they can purchase the book elsewhere for less in order to fill your order. It's a huge hassle, there are no warnings, and they rely on a third party to eventually (or not) refund your money. And, in the meantime, you lose the opportunity to purchase a book from a reputable, legitimate used book dealer.
I strongly recommend avoiding purchasing ANYTHING from "AnyBookSales" or "MoreBooks", and Alibris should be flamed for not allowing crystal clear user ratings of merchants on its website.

To all readers and consumers,
I am writing on behalf of Morebooks! Publishing which was mentioned in the above post. We would like to bring certain details as to claims made. Morebooks! is an online shop feature more than one million products and offering free shipping.
However, we are in anyway linked to AnyBookSales nor Alibri. We believe the customer made a confusion between our online shop and Alibri or AnyBookSales. We have never been involved in the transaction mentioned.
We would therefore request the consumer to contact the relevant parties to the this issue and un-associate Morebooks! with the above mentioned companies.
We shall remain at the entire disposal of this community for any additional information required.
