This company advertises International Edition text books as having the same ISBN number as the regular edition text books, which they do not. This makes students assume that the text books they are receiving have the exact same content as the regular editions. This is usually not the case, as the International Edition text books often have different problem sets which renders them useless for students trying to complete homework assignments.

After contacting them and asking for a refund I was refunding everything but the expensive shipping I paid for the book.  They are still displaying their text books with the incorrect ISBN numbers. Any comments I have made to them about their false advertisement were ignored, although they did acknowledge that they know that they have different ISBN numbers.

Since it is clearly not just a mistake on their part it is false advertisement. They know what they are doing is wrong and they simply do not care. Not only does this lose students money when they find out that the text book they purchased is not the same one that they wanted, it will also put them behind in school and hurt their grades.

International editions on many websites

AUTHOR: Chris - Danville (USA)

International editions are allowed to be listed under the US edition ISBN on many websites, including Valore, eBay, Abebooks, eCampus, TextbooksRus, and Biblio.com.

9/10 times, the international book is 100 percent the same.  In a few cases, the problems do differ.  Specifically, TextbookXpress states in their product description on Abebooks that they are selling the international edition, numerous times.  In addition to TextbookXpress's effort, Abebooks removes the image from international edition listings, and also includes text indicating when an international edition is for sale.

To err is human, so if you overlooked these notices, a good seller will accept a return, though they usually will not pay for your shipping if you didn't read the description of what you're purchasing.  If you ship the return package via media mail, it shouldn't cost more than $4.50 to ship with delivery confirmation.
