I checked out Elaine's Wedding Center online first before deciding to try it out as I always do with stores/restaurants/etc. I found a lot of bad reviews of the store but a few good ones and decided that worst case scenario, I just wouldn't buy from them. Turns out the multiple terrible reviews were right on the money.

This is stated on their website:

"At Elaine's we like to think that we sell, "the gown buying experience", not gowns.  Therefore, we prefer that you stop in to our store at 906 Hansen Road in Green Bay to work with one of our experienced consultants. However, if you would like to contact us, please do so at:

I wanted to know if they had a particular dress by a designer I liked. I emailed them at the email they listed. A few days went by and I never received a reply. I think it is very unprofessional for a company to not reply to emails, and if they don't check them then don't list email as an option to contact you! 

Ok, so after no reply I decided to call them. I told them flat out that I emailed them about the dress and the lady on the phone "took my information down" and said she would double check. She put me on hold for a while. She came back and claimed they did not receive an email from me but that she would gladly help me out over the phone. Not true!

She said she would look up the dress and get back to me if they had it but assured me they could order it even if they didn't have it for me to see. Well guess what? Days go by and NO PHONE CALL. I didn't even bother calling the jerks back to get an update as to why they will not work with me here! First impressions are everything and this place is low on my list of good retailers. 

Another funny thing is on their website they say the "prefer" you stop in to talk to them. Well I read all these other reviews of people stated they have done just that and were told they won't be seen without an appointment. Wow, what a farce.

Don't go here, the bad reviews are true.

As owner of Elaine's, I wish you would have actually come into the store to view our enormous selection.  Usually, when a person has a specific dress that they call to inquire about, it is because they already found the dress at another store and are now simply price checking.  We do not give out prices over the phone, but we do price all of our dresses at the lowest price allowed by the manufacturer.  I have to say that I am not happy with how our staff handled your inquiry.

We do accept walkins without an appointment - if we have a bridal consultant available.  In fact, about 1/3 of our customers don't have an appointment.  On Saturday's, we normally have 15 or more appointments with new brides, so I can only assume that whoever handled your phone inquiry may have been in the middle of working with another bride.  We are sorry that we didn't meet your expectations.
