Two bridesmaid's dresses were ordered 5 and 6 months in advance with a promise that they would be received in 12 weeks. After 3 months and no phone calls from House of Brides, Lombard, we finally started checking. They PROMISED that the dresses would be in 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding date! One dress arrived one month before the wedding and the second one, two weeks later. Multiple calls were placed and emails sent and NO ONE responded until I finally got a manager on the phone. She gave NO explanation for what the delay was and no apology either. I have talked with other people since and they refer to this establishment at the "House of Horrors"! DO NOT trust your wedding dresses or bridesmaids dresses to these people! Not unless you enjoy anxiety and frustration!

Same Thing happened To Me

AUTHOR: Andrea - Roselle (U.S.A.)

The same thing happened to my best friend's bridesmaid's dresses. She ordered her's from the Hoffman Estates store. They came 2 weeks before the wedding (they were ordered 6 months in advance) and some of them had to be shipped to out of state people for them to have alterations.

The alterations department was so booked up that I had to have alts done a week before the wedding and they still screwed up the dress (made it too small) and had to let it out some more. I was lucky to have the dress done by the wedding day.

The manager was very rude and gave no apology. When my best friend would call with an inquiry, they would tell her the manager was not in (not in every single time she called?). The assistant manager was of no help either.

I am surprised that this bridal chain has not gone out of business yet. This problem has been going on for years!

You may be able to check with the designers to verify this

AUTHOR: Yup - Wheaton (U.S.A.)

The main reason for delays from the designer is credit issues. The designers will not ship dresses that are ready for delivery if Dale Buziecki hasn't paid his bills per the terms of delivery.

The designers are in business to make money like everybody is. If they don't get paid they are not shipping.

Unfortunately it's the customer that loses. You can contact the designers and verify this. Some will tell you straight up that the delays are caused by credit issues. Others will not.

Consider yourself lucky Janet, some customers recieve their dresses the day before the wedding.
