ETrade stock trading fraud, money theft New York Internet

I signed up to buy and sell stocks via etrade but every step has been a hassle. Their site has been down, their phone service has been down, the whole thing company seemed incompetent to me. I tried to transfer my money back from etrade to my checking account. I did this online, and they required me to answer several security questions first. The questions were about my ex husband, whom I haven't seen or heard from in 10 yrs or so, questions about where he lives and what vehicle he drives. When I obviously answered them wrong, my account was shut down and I was told to call their fraud dept (which was of course closed.) After several tries to call, which resulted in a message stating their phone service was again down, I finally reached a human this morning. She told me I now must have a letter notarized which states who I am, my personal info, what I (!) did that caused my account to be shut down for security reasonsand some other info from the website, and certify mail it to them. Then they will call me and verify who I am and reopen my account. At which time, I will have to again log onto their ridiculous website and go through the whole thing over again. It is crazy that their security questions, which come from an outside company, can have nothing to do with the client. And it is infuriating that I will now have to take time off of work to go to the post office, wasting my time and money, because of the incompetency of this company.
